2026 Ram 1500 Release Date
The 2026 Ram 1500 is expected to be released in late 2025 or early 2026. In the headlines, the 2026 Ram 1500 Express trim, which is a value-focused model, is expected to begin delivery in the third quarter of 2025. MotorTrend honored the Ram 1500 as the Truck of the Year in 2025 and the 2026 models will continue to build on that success. Meanwhile, we have 2025 Ram 1500 trucks in our new Ram inventory.
Here's what you can expect to see when the new 2026 Ram 1500 arrives in our new inventory at Honesdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Honesdale, PA.

What's new for 2026?
A new Express trim becomes part of the Ram 1500 lineup for 2026, serving as a more affodable, value-focused model. The Express will come with unique styling elements like blacked-out headlamp bezels and dark gray interior trim. It will be available with rear- or four-wheel drive and as either a Quad or Crew Cab body style.
A Black Express appearance package is another new feature for this year and it can be added to Quad and Crew Cab body styles. The package includes a unique Sport hood, black 20-inch wheels, black cloth bucket seats and a 7.0-inch gauge cluster. If you're open to another alternative, check out our 2023 closeout inventory.
Engines and performance
Once again, the Ram 1500 is equipped with a standard 3.6-liter V6 with a mild hybrid system that generates 305 horsepower and 271 pound-feet of source. The 2026 Ram 1500 also offers an available Hurricane 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline six-cylinder engines with 420 horsepower and 469 pound-feet of torque. The time from zero to 60 mph is about 5.0 seconds and fuel economy comes in at up to 25 MPG on the highway.
The Ram 1500 Hurricane engine is also available in a High-Output version that you can count on for 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. This model is even faster, reaching 60 mph in about 4.5 seconds. No matter which engine you choose, every gas-powered 2026 Ram 1500 operates with an eight-speed automatic transmission and either rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. MotorTrend notes that there is hope Ram will bring back the beloved HEMI® V8 engines that were discontinued in the 2025 model year.

Towing and payload capacity
If the HEMI® V8 engine isn't available in the 2026 model, the maximum towing capacity in the 2026 Ram 1500 will continue to be 11,580 pounds, although it can pack a payload of up to 2300 pounds. That towing capacity, of course, is substantially less than the full-size pickups from Ford and Chevy, but a new Ramcharger plug-in hybrid can tow up to 14,000 pounds. Just keep in mind that the battery would need to be recharged.
Interior and the exterior highlights
The cabin of the Ram 1500 comes with highly functional cubby storage along with a substantial amount of passenger space. Higher trim levels make the Ram 1500 feel more like a luxury car than a pickup, especially if you invest in the top-echelon Tungsten model. Most trims offer available upscale features like heated and ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and at the highest levels, premium leather surfaces and genuine wood accents.
The Tungsten trim offers twenty-way power-adjustable front seats with a massage function and a premium stereo system with 23 speakers. The Ram 1500 comes with a helpful split-folding tailgate and you can take your choice of a five-foot-seven-inch cargo bed or a six-foot-four-inch bed.
