The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will be a new performance-focused truck that's expected to arrive in the third quarter of 2024. It's taking the place of the legendary Ram 1500 TRX so it won't offer the same awesome 702-horsepower HEMI® V8 engine that was available with the TRX. Instead it will utilize the same platform with a Baja-ready long-travel suspension system along with the same TRX components and a dynamic wide-body look. The front end has been redesigned and the upscale interior will be nicer than before.
The Ram 1500 RHO won't give you the same mind-boggling performance as the outgoing Ram 1500 TRX but it will have a number of off-road and performance features. The new RHO Equipment Group package: An upgrade that wasn't offered on the TRX
The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will be offered in a single trim level but you can get quite a bit more by adding the RHO Equipment Group. If you make that additional investment you'll get a larger 14.5-inch infotainment screen, coompared with a 12.0-inch center touchscreen on the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX. With the RHO Equipment Group package you'll also get rain-sensing windshield wipers, a 360-degree exterior camera, a head-up display, heated and ventilated front seats and a premium stereo system with 19 speakers, an option that was also available on the TRX.
A comparison of engines and performance
The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will come with an upgraded version of the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that's currently under the hood of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer. In the RHO's case, it generates 540 horsepower and comes with standard four-wheel drive along with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The RHO is equipped with Bilstein Blackhawk adaptive shock absorbers as well as a specially tuned air spring suspension system. Ground clearance for the Ram 1500 RHO is the highest in the 1500 lineup at 11.8 inches with the help of all-terrain tires. The zero-to-60-mph time in the RHO is estimated at 4.5 seconds, which is slower than the TRX.
Meanwhile, the 2024 Ram 1500 TRX came with a supercharged 6.2 liter HEMI® V8 that generates a mind-boggling 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque. Like the Ram 1500 RHO, it ran with an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive. But the Ram 1500 TRX rocketed to 60 mph in only 3.7 seconds and hit the quarter mile in 12.3 seconds at 110 mph.
A comparison of towing and payload capability
The all-new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will have a maximum towing capacity of 8,380 pounds, so it's able to pull a large speedboat or a heavy trailer. That's a little better than the Ram 1500 TRX which had a maximum towing capacity of 8100 pounds. The maximum payload in the new RHO is 1,520 pounds which exceeds the Ram 1500 TRX with a payload of up to 1,310 pounds.
Interior highlights
Ram sets the standard for truck interiors across the full-size pickup segment and you'll find that same level of excellence in both the Ram 1500 RHO and the Ram 1500 TRX. The RHO and the TRX are both available exclusively as a crew cab with a short cargo bed. Genuine leather and suede upholstery comes standard in the RHO and interior upgrades include carbon fiber accents and upholstered dash panels. Premium options include massaging front seats as a part of the RHO Equipment Group package. The TRX starts at a more basic level with cloth upholstery but at higher trim levels it also has leather covered surfaces along with heated and ventilated front seats.
